The International Department of Tsinghua High School receives German teachers and students

On November 3, a delegation of 27 teachers and students from Germany visited the International Department of Tsinghua High School。Mr. Barnhardt, Head of the Secondary School Division, presided over the welcoming ceremony。Vice President Li Wenping introduced the history of the International Department, followed by an interesting icebreaking event organized by Mr. Barnhardt, which allowed the International Department teachers and students on site to quickly get to know each other with the visiting German teachers and students。

The students laughed and spoke freely。When the class bell rang, the German students also entered the class with their new friends in the International Department to experience learning here。Ms. Stammerjohann, the French teacher, said: "I am very happy that these German students can come into my class, and it is fun to introduce themselves to each other in French with their international friends!"

At noon, the German students and the international students went to the canteen or cafe for lunch and participated in the club meeting after lunch。

After lunch, all the teachers and students of the high school gathered together with the visiting German teachers and students。At the meeting, German students gave a vivid and detailed introduction to German food, German football and their home state of Hesse。Subsequently, the students of the International Department also took the stage to introduce the capital Beijing, and gave a chorus performance, a traditional and modern dance performance and a wonderful magic show with the participation of German students. The atmosphere was friendly and warm。

After the conference, the teachers and students of both sides took a group photo and visited the campus of Tsinghua University under the guidance of student volunteers。

"Diversity" has always been an important part of the core values of the International Department of Tsinghua High School, and through this exchange, the students of the International Department not only showed their own culture but also felt the German culture。Vice President Li Wenping said, "Promoting cultural exchanges with foreign schools and establishing exchange programs with foreign schools are an important form of broadening the international perspective of students in the International Department, and an important measure to cultivate students' international understanding。We also sincerely hope that more foreign schools will visit the International Department in the future!"At present, the International Department is preparing for an exchange trip to Italy。
